Sunday, 27.03: Kubica congratulated Petrov, wishes from paddock to Robert

Robert Kubica enjoyed todays Vitaly Petrov good driving and third place of Russian in Australian Grand Prix. Probably he also saw how members of his team wish him a "speed recovery" and expressed a miss of him. Kubica sent to Eric Boullier an SMS asking him to congratulate Petrov his success.

We could see in pits and during the decoration on the podium how two members of the team are holding cards with captions: "We miss you Robert" and "Szybkiego powrotu do zdrowia Robert ", which in Polish means: get well soon. It was a beautiful gesture expressing the memory of Kubica in this joyful moment for the team.

Pretty well behaved Nick Heidfeld and Fernando Alonso. German, who replaced Robert, for the whole weekend in Australia has had painted on his helmet a Polish flag under which he placed the initials RK. Alonso painted on his helmet small Kubica`s helmet.

Pole, who watched the race on television from his hospital bed in Santa Corona, has sent to chief of his team a text message with the request to congratulate  Vitaly Petrov for his first podium in career.

Robert put a lot of work in preparing the Lotus Renault GP car for 2011, he could not ride it after the horrible accident in the Rally Ronde di Andorra in February. Pole is at least satisfied that his efforts are not wasted, just a pity that it works for someone else.

We can only regret that we have not seen Kubica on the track, as it can be assumed that he would be much faster than the Russian.

We do not know how many races Robert will have to watch on TV, and how many from the pits, but unfortunately I suspect that he won't be able to start in any race of the 2011 season.
